Coming Soon • Updates Ahead...
GLOAM is a cooperative forest horror game where 1 to 4 players explore maze-like trails, abandoned campsites, and forgotten structures while rescuing survivors and escaping the creatures that hunt through the darkness.
The central camp functions as your hub: it’s where you regroup, choose routes, adjust your equipment, and decide whether to push deeper into the woods or live to try again another night.
Semi-procedural areas where item spawns, events, and points of interest shift each run, creating new routes and variations even in familiar locations.
A few essential elements of the experience we are building for the game.
Up to 4 connected players sharing resources and decisions. Splitting the group is risky, but sometimes it’s the only option.
Trails, structures, and open areas that create new routes, shortcuts, and traps each run, keeping every expedition unpredictable.
Campfires act as living checkpoints: they require resources to keep the flame burning and repel creatures, but they also reveal your position to whatever lurks in the darkness.
Creatures inspired by dark myths and eerie folklore. They track you through sound, light, and scent, moving too quickly can be a fatal mistake.
Encounters with survivors, dynamic locations, and unexpected situations. Your progress in each area influences the difficulty and what you'll face in future runs.
Unlock perks through different items and upgrade your gear each run. Manage the resources and money earned in the field, not just to survive, but to keep your search agency operating and prevent it from shutting down for good.
A simple overview of how each run unfolds.
In the hub, choose your gear, assign roles, and set a plan before stepping away from the safety of the campfire.
Move into dark, unpredictable areas. Rely on sounds, landmarks, and reference points to navigate without getting completely lost.
Rescue survivors, recover items, and keep campfires active. The longer you stay out there, the more aggressive the creatures become.
Return to camp alive to convert progress into upgrades and keep your agency running. Falling to the darkness has consequences for the next run.
Some common questions about the game and what we are planning.
The initial focus is a PC release via Steam. Other platforms may be considered depending on community interest and reception.
You can play alone or with others. The game works the same in both cases, playing solo simply means you take on all the risks and decisions yourself.
GLOAM features distinct areas, each with its own core structures, fixed locations that always exist within the map. However, items, events, secondary routes, and objectives shift from run to run. New locations, creatures, and mechanics will be added over time.
Yes. You’ll be able to unlock perks, small advantages, and cosmetic items as you complete more runs and progress through the game’s areas.
The main focus is tension, audio, and atmosphere. Occasional jumpscares may appear, but the fear mostly comes from the feeling of being watched and hunted, all balanced with a light comedic touch to break the heavier moments.
